Homebuilt helicopter feasibility and practicality?

for the most part a scale model of a helicoptor that has everything it needs to fly is a very expensive project. Most people do it for the love of helicoptors, But gravity is something you cannot get away from, and there have been many a expensive crash that turns it into wreckage. I think its best to find a small training type of helicopter and learn how to fly it well, before jumping of into one that costs 7 grand or more. A lot of the guys who own them, know how to fly a real one, it helps a lot, particularly with the landing, which is where most of the problems happen.
