What does this statement mean?

I'm writing a psychology paper in which I have to write 3 different reviews of 3 different articles from a psychiatric journal. In the "Objective" section of one of the articles, the last sentence is "This aim of this open trial was to investigate the feasibility and effectiveness of delivering FBT at a site beyond the treatment's origin and manualization." What do they mean by "at a site beyond the treatment's origin and manualization"??? Does that mean a place other than the hospital? Or does it mean straying from what's in the manual for the treatment? Help please! Thanks!
