Why wont my toenail come off?

Ok so a while back i bent back my toenail pretty bad in the car. It was so bad i could bend it almost to touching itslef. it turned all blue and black like to fall off but it didnt. Now i have a bent back toe that wont fall off and snags on everything. Also i have tried ripping it off but it wont give. It dosent hurt when i pull on it, it just wont come off. :/
